?'s about connecting via HDMI

I'm purchasing a Sanyo PLV-Z200 projector with 1.3 HDMI and am wondering if there will be any issues with connecting it to my HR20 HD DVR via HDMI. First I need to go about 40' is that ok? Second will the HDMI connection give me better video than my component conection? Last will ther be any compatibility problems?

Shouldn't be any compatibility problems.

HDMI is not good over long distances, but you should be ok with 40'. It depends upon the cable somewhat though. The HDMI cable to my projector is 35' (bluejeanscable) and it works fine.

I doubt you'd be able to see any difference between HDMI and component. Some will tell you HDMI is better, some won't. If calibrated correctly, they should give an almost identical picture.

I've got a 3' going from my HR20 to my monoprice HDMI switcher and another 40' going from that to my TV. No problems.

There are no guarantees here. I would research this issue with respect to these two devices over in the appropriate thread at AVSForum (www.avsf.com). Once you find the thread for this particular projector, search the thread using "HDMI" as the search term. If there are any compatibility issues, they'll for sure be discussed there, if this model has been out for any period of time.

Also, you can review the new top-of-the-line Belden HDMI cables at Blue Jeans Cable (http://www.bluejeanscable.com/store/hdmi-cables/index.htm). The 50 footers are listed there.
