This is my first post. Lots of great information on here! I am upgrading to a HD DVR and I need the 5 LNB dish along with a new HR21. My existing dish is a dual LNB. I have the two lines from the dish going to a multi switch (2 in 4 out) inside my basement; then routed appropriately from there to three receivers. (one of which is a DVR with two lines going to it)
I will ultimately have the HR21 with two lines already existing from the multi switch in the basement, the older DVR (one line because I dont need to record and watch different programs on this TV), and an old RCA receiver.
My question is will additional lines need to be run from the new 5 LNB dish into the basement to the existing multi switch or is there any way the two existing lines from the dish can be used to carry the proper signals into the house and then routed properly with a newer type multi switch?
I hope I explained this well enough. I have some concerns if new lines need run from the dish into the house since our basement is finished now. It would be a PITA to get new lines into the basement. I wired up the existing system myself before the basement was finished.
