My internet explorer keeps freezing up when it starts. I had Yahoo toolbar and anti-spy installed. I removed them and no luck. I also removed all my history, cookies, etc and no luck. I also uninstalled and reinstalled IE and NO LUCK. :( I am running Windows 2000 and IE6. Because of this issue, I can't run Windows Update.
Any ideas? Does it sound like time it's time to upgrade to XP?

I see you fixed the problem. This almost never happens on Windows 2000; many contend it's the best of the Windows breed. I never install those add-on 'coolbars'. Be careful when you click 'Yes' when you're surfing and one of those 'Do you want to do this' boxes pops up out of nowhere.
You might ask yourself, 'What will XP (or VISTA) do for me what Windows 2000 won't do for me?' I have a 2000 machine in service and can't cite any substantial deficiencies with it that my XP machines have overcome.
It's true that Microsoft doesn't support 2000 but, if it's doing the job, I put that in the 'So what' category. I also have a Windows 98 machine in service that performs just fine for Email and Internet surfing.

yeah, 2000 is one of the most stable version's around (especially if you are upped to service pack 4). i still have one computer/server at home running 2000NT and it has never been off since 2002... talk about track record

While I will always go for the latest and 'greatest', there will never be an operating systems as robust and reliable as Windows 2000. It's a shame MS combined a Pretty UI OS with Professional OS. I think Microsoft should have kept the Windows and Windows NT platforms separate.
