Major lip sync issues on every episode of Man vs. Wild recorded off of Discovery Channel HD. Anybody else see this problem?

Judging by the lack of response, I'm guessing nobody else has problems with this show on Discovery Channel HD.

yep, I had it too.... posted about it in the hr20 forum which was a general complaint about sync issues. And what was funny (odd) was that some commercials were in sync and some were not.

Isn't this the show where the "star" lip synched the entire premise? stayed in 5 star resorts while supposedly roughing it?

Touche! In my defense ... well, the show stinks and, uh, "happened" to be on! I have no defense.

It was still out of sync.

Could this have been the HDMI sync issue where you can change channels back and forth to "reset" the connection?

I use component out for video and optical out for audio.

I also use component and optical and rarely have the issue. When I do, changing the channel too some other audio formatted channel fixes it.

For example, if I am on a stereo channel I flip to a 5.1 channel and then back.

If I am playing back. I stop, flip to live TV, then re-start.

All of my Discovery HD shows have HORRIBLE audio sync. The sync during "Rise of the Video Game" was off a good second. The audio preceded the video. Normally I can't tell if the audio or video is lagging, but it was so bad this time that it was obvious.

Yes, I noticed the sync issue, as well. I dunno if this was the only show with an issue, or if it's others, as I haven't been watching Discovery channel all that much lately.

I noticed this also and hoped that I would not have to switch to the SD feed in order to watch Mythbusters, which seemed fine other than Adam talking in that stupid "pirate" voice.

If all else fails, try a system reset before you give up on the recording.

Have you EVER had to deal with room service in those 5 start hotels ? It's brutal !! :lol:

I've noticed that Discovery HD's audio sync has been a bit off very frequently.

Discovery HD is by far the worst. Some of it is downright unwatchable.
