I am fixing to upgrade to the new Slimline HD dish. I installed my old dish along with 10 others for friends and family (non HD dish). I have read that the slimline has a built in multiswitch with 4 outputs. I only have 2 TV's in my house. Do I need to buy any other multiswitch for the dish.

Thanks!

Jason

No....well....let me clarify. Don't go by TV count. You need to go by tuner count. A DVR will require 2 cables. A non-DVR requires only one.

To take this a bit further, if you connect 2 DVR's to the same TV (which some here do) that would be 4 cables. You've maxed out the intregrated MS in the dish. Then you would need an external Zinwell WB68 to accomadate your 2nd TV.

But to get back down to earth here.....you should be OK without needing an external MS.

Welcome Aboard.

Yep, two DVRs requires four cables, two for each tuner. Your dish's four outputs are sufficient. But if you add more equipment later the installer will add an external multiswitch.
