Ordered HD through D*, can I buy HR20 locally?

I was wondering if I could just buy the HR20 locally and have them give me the $200 credit they gave me over the phone when I placed my order? Reason I'd like to do this is I have Gift certs at a local store that has them in stock. I didn't even think of this when I called and got the deal with them.

you might be able to get a $99 credit, not sure if you'll get the same $200 credit as you did when you ordered. the chances of getting any credits so soon upon sign up is a very slim chance. also, at anytime you can purchase another HR2x at any local brick & mortar shop.

I purchased the TIVO HD box (which I cant even use anymore -but thats a whole other story) and they gave me the rebate and gave me a credit on my account - ended up making money when all was said and done. But make sure that you get their OK before going out and buying and make sure that they note your account. Not sure if they will do this or not anymore, but it may be worth it to give it a try.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I am a current D* subscriber and just upgraded to HD. I got the HR20 for 299 with a $200 credit. I was wondierng if I called them and said I bought one on my own if they'd still give me the $200 credit. I am not asking for 2 HR20s, just the one. I'd be replacing the one I ordered from them with one I buy at a local B&M.

If the $200 credit is program credits, it should not be a problem to do as you wish.

Do you already have the 5LNB dish? If you don't, you won't get the new HD if you pick up the receiver locally.

The installation of a new HR20 generally comes with the new dish if you need it.
