View Full Version : strange technical issue
My SD receiver gave me a blank screen recently and the message searching for signal out of nowhere. Sometimes if i leave the receiver unplugged for a long time, i will get through the installation screen and get the signal back but most times i don't. I decided to call *D to reactivate another receiver that i used to use to try, again pictures were back for a while but ended up with the search for signal message again. The reason i said it's strange it's because if problem is hardware related then how come both receivers failed at the same time? If it's cabling problem, then why did i get signal initially when i switched to another receiver? The HD receiver in another room works fine too.

Try the reveiver in another location (where the HD unit is) to be sure.
If it works fine there, then it is probably one of the following:
Bad connector
Bad cable
Bad grounding block
Bad output on the embedded (in the LNB assembly) multiswitch
Bad output on the external (if installed) multiswitch
