For months after I bought Dish's sports pack, I resigned myself to the fact that not only were the live professional sports events blacked out, so were their replays later that night or the next morning. I avoided them because whenever I hit one, I'd have to drop my TiVo remote and rummage around for the Dish receiver remote.
Later, I got a bit further annoyed that even though I bought NHL Center Ice, I wasn't allowed to see the NHL replays when they were available on the RSNs.
A few nights ago, I was stumbling around with the Dish remote and found that MSG's replay of an NBA game was available to me. I thought it was a fluke or some NBA-TV channel weirdness, but this morning, I can see NBA and NHL replays on my sports channels. Cool!
Anybody else notice this? Any idea whether this is a permanent change or a short-term aberration?

I'm not sure but don't hold your breath.
Last summer, E* was allowing replays
of MLB games w/o blackouts, then all
of sudden a third of the way into the
season....the replays were blacked out.
When I signed up with Dish in August, MLB replays were blacked out. However, I've been able to watch NHL and NBA replays with no problem.

I enjoy sports, but I don't sub to this package. What other programs can you see besides reruns? After the original game , how soon do you see the replay?

John Corn, on the Dish sports package, I've seen curling (today), Canadian football, college hockey, college basketball (men's and women's), college volleyball, and high school football. Plus there's boxing, which I've never checked. That's all just since August, when I signed up.
Some channels show replays just an hour or two after the game is over. Some show replays the next morning or afternoon. Some replays hit several days after the event (such as college football), and some hit months later (Sunshine Network's showing a 2002 Marlins game once a week). And some channels show just the end of the game as a replay, as a fourth quarter (NBA) or third period (NHL) replay.
During MLB season, even during the blackouts, you can often see the last inning or two if a game runs long, past its original time slot and into its scheduled "postgame" or whatever.
And if you're a transplanted sports fan from any of the home cities, you can get lots of city-centric sports shows.

Replays on DirecTV OOM RSNs are not blacked out, but with Dish there are some periods when they are and some when theyre not.
Another advantage to the Sports Pak, is the ability to time shift Fox Sports News and The Best Damn Sports Show :p And also arena football is not blacked out
