Hi:
I had a R15-300 die and DTV sent me a replacement (refurbished R15-100).
A couple if things, the 100 is somewhat larger than the 300, it barley fits in the slot I had the 300 in.
Also, it is a very noisy box. You can hear th HDD across the room, since this unit is in our bedroom, it is very irritating. I am planning on calling DTV to see if they can send me another unit.
Does anybody else have a 100 had have issues with the noise??

Have a -100 in the bedroom. Never noticed the sound as a problem.

My -100 makes quite a bit more noise than my other two.
I couldn't be happier with the -100. I also had a -300 die in the last week and it was replaced with a -100.
I think the -100 operates much faster than the -300. I also haven't really noticed the noise issue being that significant. One is in our bedroom and I don't hear a thing.
I don't think you'll be able to get D* to replace it because it's a little louder than your 300. Even if you do, I'm pretty sure they won't promise you a specific model. They may just send another 100.

What I do have problems is with the latest national software download that has
"screwed" things up.
According to Direct - they know of the problems - working on a fix - have no idea when it will be avialable - won't let me go back to the previous update - won't change my model - and that's that!
What a bunch of morons!!!

My R15-100 is in my bedroom and quiet. NO issues there. Maybe just a HD issue with yours?

I do have a series link I can't delete though that's driving me nutso...:nono:
Hopefully a CE soon will clear it up!
