HBO and Cinemax are the same company, so probably worked out a deal with dish to allow dish to offer both a bit cheaper when bundled together. Showtime owns the movie channel.

pez: They are both owned by AOL-Time Warner and show the same mainstream movies, but Cinemax(AKA SKINAMAX) shows the most porn of any premium station and for the extra $3 that it will be with this combo, there are many a pervert out there who will find this a tremendous value.

However, for the majority of MY CUSTOMERS, Dish is now a rippoff.

Not as good as some other channels though, hide too much.

You don't get the same movies on both channels(at least not the skin movies). I only have HBO and sometimes wish I had SkinaMAXX, just can't justify the cost.

I used to have Skinamax....(cinemax).....dropped it after a month or so....I mean how many damn times can you watch the SAME Marilyn Chambers flick....:D Sorry but there is just something so damn wrong with watching 50 or 60 year old ex porn stars in a soft porn flick....

At some point a few years ago, my AT150+Hbo/Sho/Starz was only $1 less than the Everything Pack with the addition of Skinemax. Every time I called up about something (switching recievers, etc) they would say "It's only $1". I always answered it wasn't worth it. Now with 5 channels It might be harder to say not worth it, but I might stay strong :D

That's the position I'm in too. It is still only $2.00 less than AE but I, too, am staying strong because they do show the same stuff. What airs on HBO this month will be on MAX next month.

Well the more channels the more likely a movie you are interested in will on TV. When I have nothing planned to watch I will go through the guide looking at all the movies are on and can usually find one to watch. Even though some are old that I missed when they first came out, it is worth it to see them. Would be nice if they picked up the other max channels while they were at it, but a couple new channels is better than nothing.
