I have a 100 and a 700. Both indicate they are networked. However, I have never seen the Music and Photos menu option on the 100 while I do on the 700. I have full sharing capabilities on the 700 using Tversity. I just can't get the 100 to do the same. I also have full VOD capabilities on the 100.

Side technical information. The 700 is attached to the network via a Netgear Powerline while the 100 is hooked up via a Buffalo wireless access point.

Any thoughts on what I need to do to get the 100 to see my music and photos?

You need to upgrade the Buffalo firmware to at least 2.53. Then it will work.

Thanks. I tried doing that but the firmware upgrade never completed. Now the ethernet convertor software doesn't recognize the unit. I have to figure out how to get my computer to see the unit so I can retry the upgrade.

Bummer! You may want to contact Buffalo. Is there a reset button on there? Most of the time holding this type of button down for a certain amount of time will get it to a working condition so that the CD will work on it again.

The OP has a buffalo bridge that needs a firmware update, so it may be the same result, but it is a different problem.

Check the HR20-100 and make sure you are plugged into Port 1. Port 2 is not enabled and it may not be connected to a working ethernet port. Have you verified the connection working by using the test method mentioned in the link in my signature? For help on networking click on the link in my siganature.

My HR20-100 has an internet connection. I can download DOD. The issue is that the Music and Photos menu option never appears.

For the Buffalo to do the media share portion, it iwll have to have 2.53 firmware. It is required for that to work.

Step 1 - reset the bufallo - there is a reset button
Step 2- go to website and download the firmware to your computer - save on harddrive.
Step 3 - set up bufallo again on website
Step 4 - upgrade firmware from your harddrive

If I remember correctly, that's how I did it. Had same problem with HR100 on Bufallo. Firmware upgrade made menu item pop right up.

You have a problem with a buffalo device hooked to your HR10-100?

You mean HR20? No, I'm not using a buffalo device. I cannot get WMP11 to recognize my HR20-100.

Try clicking on the network help in my signature and looking for the title "WMP11- Some New Things To Try To Get It Working With The HR20". That may help gettting your WMP11 going. It worked for me.

My HR20-100 does the same thing. I've unplugged the unit and plugged it back in an had the Music and Photos appear on the menu. I can access photos and music no problem then a day or so later it goes missing from the menu again, but I can still access DOD. Others here have had the same problem, but I've never found the solution.

Set a static IP address, my HR20-100 did the same thing til I set a fixed address and it's been fine for a couple weeks now.
