Tivo Outputs

My sister-in-law has a Tivo connected to an older TV w/composite outputs. Now she wants to connect the Tivo to her video recorder so she can record a show at the same time as she watches it. As I remember, not all the outputs on the Tivo are active at the same time as are the new H20 & HR20. Can I use "Y" adapters to split the signal to both the TV & recorder at the same time? Thanks for your help.

I think all the DirecTivo DVRs have two sets of composite outputs, so you should not need any Y-adapter. Both composite outputs are active at the same time.

Note that if she has an HR10-250 HD DirecTivo, its composite & SVideo outputs are only active when the DVR is set to output 480i Standard Definition video resolution.
