Can you use JUST Tuner 2?

I only have one line running to my HR20. Naturally, it is connected to SAT IN 1. I've been getting pixelation on the MPEG2 HD Channels. Is there a way to bypass Tuner 1 and use just Tuner 2? I swapped my cable to SAT2 and restarted but it kept saying Search for Satellite Signal during the bootup. Is there a setting I can change?

I've been reading where some people are having pixelation on Tuner 1 but not Tuner 2. My Satellite Strengths are fine (90s). I just ordered replacement BBCs to see if they are causing the problem. Just trying to find out the problem.
