The Outdoor Channel said its subscriber count has passed the 20 million mark, topping year-end estimates for 2002. According to the latest from Nielsen Media Research, the Outdoor Channel's universe estimate for January 2003 - 20.5 million subscribers - is a nearly 400 percent increase from its January 2000 subscriber total of 5.3 million. Nielsen's December 2002 ratings also revealed an all-time high for The Outdoor Channel, showing an overall increase of 10 percent over its landmark November performance.
