This just started happeneing last week. The timers I create disappear almost daily. I missed a recording that was to fire after midnight.

Anyone else having issues with timers going poof?

I have tried rebooting the unit and it happened again. It did work correctly for threee days before this latest occurance.

My 501 w/401 has lost timers three times since the software upgrade and I've missed some programs because of this bug. It's doesn't lose timers daily, but frequently. Dish support wasn't aware of the problem and sent me out a replacement unit. It's a 508 so I guess I'm ahead on this.

The NBR and New program recording is nice, and the clock graphic is improved, but overall I think the upgrade is a net loss. It now takes much longer to set timers and there are too many menus to go through. It's difficult to set up manual timers and if you have international packages or channels where they don't update/follow the guide rigidly, manual timers are a must. Further, they did lead and lag times wrong IMHO. A three minute lead on a timer should be optional. If you have a timer set for 10-10:30pm and a 2nd timer for 10:30-11pm, with a three minute lead. One of the timers will get skipped because of the three minute overlap. Instead, the DVR should skip just the lead and let both programs be recorded for 30 minutes. Same for lag. Further, let me skip the lead -- I was watching a program one time and missed the ending because Dish flipped the channel early. The 501/508/510 computer programmers at Dish must have worked very hard to retrofit NBR into old devices. I appreciate the effort but am not happy with the result.
