Any news on OpenTV or Internet Access for the 721?

Scott, are you getting any details on this from your contacts at Dish? I don't remember for sure if they ever announced any tentative delivery dates, but I seem to remember something about the winter. Maybe it's just my imagination though

Internet.....I've heard of no dates.

Open TV....I believe it was mentioned a couple of chats ago that it would be during the 2nd quater of 2003.

OpenTV will need to go on the 721 first before Internet access is made available (The browser runs under OpenTV)

I would say that it would be sometime around june before we see OpenTV on the 721. That's just a guess of mine, but in talking to lots of folks this is the time frame they were pointing.

Probably at least another year before we even hear about them adding the internet access and then another half a year to a year's wait after that? Thats how it usually goes. By the time they add it so many things will have changed, new receivers may already be out by then.
