since atleast 7:30 eastern tonight I've had picture breakup issues periodically on the new hd channels. anyone else having this or do you think it is my system specific? assuming you think it is my system where should I start looking for the issue? I've not had an issue in the 3 months I've had the system....it is cold out tonight but no snow so, I don't think weather is the issue....unless I have ice on dish. noticed this on several stations all new hd stations

What are your signal readings for 103(b) on both tuners?

I just started being unable to receive 276, 277 and others around those numbers. DIRECTV is coming to check it tomorrow. It appears to be a dish alignment issue even though they just aligned my dish 3-4 weeks ago...

tuner 2 is nearly identical with na's in same slots. ig strength is 95% on both tuners. thanks.

I hooked up component along with the hdmi. still doing it. I'm trying turning off power and rebooting hope this hels. anyother ideas?
See if you can isolate the problem to one or the other tuner. When you next experience the problem, disconnect the antenna cable from SAT2 to see which tuner you're on. Then re-connect, change to another HD channel (which changes tuners), and see if you have the problem on the other tuner.
If you have isolated the problem to only a single tuner, suspect a bad BBC or loose/corroded connectors first. You can swap the BBC and coaxial cables to see if the problem switches to the other tuner. After that, there may be more things to investigate before you conclude you have a bad receiver, depending upon your complete setup. What are your other receivers? Do you use a multi-switch?
This is similar to a problem I had last weekend, only affected HD locals. It resolved when the new HD channels came online (!).

Mr. Arnold, what receiver are you having problems on?

i've had all the new hd channels breaking up and just stop working, then come back in a few min, i check all the signals and they are similar to a pattern of:
94 82 94 83 96 91
so tuner 2 are consistently low, that a warning sign at all?

teebee your issue sounds just like mine other then my tuner 1 and 2 levels seem to be in the 90's even during the issue. i hope this resolves itself cause I'm out of ideas. i've had issue with both tuner 1 and 2.

What part of Mich are you in?? Is it weather related? Ice? Snow? Heavy Rains in the area?
We're expecting Ice in Metro Detroit this afternoon - so I'm expecting to lose all of my Satellite service at some point today. I'm going to fall back on the OTA, Recordings and DVDs.

I'm about 5 miles from the Ohio state line. Not far from I-23. I did not have the issue all Sunday when I was watching TV. Maybe you are right and some weather caused the issue (although Sunday weather was worse then Fri or Saturday). I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that the issue won't return. This coming Saturday I'm getting another hd receiver delivered. Is it fair to assume that if the issue comes back and exsists on both TV's it is a non-receiver issue and that if it is isolated to the orginal receiver it is probably an issue with the receiver itself? I also don't know if I want to ask the installer who drops off the 2nd receiver about the issue or not. Sometimes I fear they do more harm then good :p
