The CalAmp LNB on the AT9 is a defective piece of crap. If that's what you have, that's your problem. You'll have to convince both DirecTV and the service guy that comes out to replace it though, and that will probably be a challenge. I did it, and my new AU9 has been rock solid.

I have an AU9 Slimline in the garage, just gotta climb on the shed and swap the dish and align. hopefully it'll warm up this week

Ok, I disconnected all cables @ the ground block and reconnected and all is well. is this likely a lnb or voltage issue? the run is about 100' to the GB/6x8 and 50' more to the receivers. will shortening the run help. come spring I can reduce it by about 60' if I re-run all the cables & switches.
