I have had the HD package since it came out a couple of years ago and I know that it has cost $10 a month so I have read that the NDNet lawsuit that has been resolved and that DTV is now going to start charging $5 for a HD extra package which includes about 5 channels. Is this cost on top of the $10 I am paying now?

So they teased us with National Geographic / HD Net and are now taking it away.
This smells really bad.

What:confused:

Nat Geo is still in HD if its in your basic package. Part of the resolution would be that HD Net will remain in the $9.99 HD Access package, but HDNET Movies would be in the HD Extra package.:)

The HD Extra Pack is made up of MHD, HD NET MOVIES, Universal HD, MGM HD, and SMITHSONIAN HD.

These are HD only channels with no SD companions as it were. HD NET will remain in CHOICE and above.

Yes, the Free Preview will end this Saturday, but let me throw another idea out there for you. D* is currently running a special where HD Extra Pack will have the first 3 months for free. So you could easily order it on Saturday and get another 3 month free preview and then in month 4 is when it rolls to a $4.99 charge. That 3 month free special will only be around until February.

Just a thought.

Do you think they are going to pull that offer on Friday? If you do go for that offer does it change anything else in programming. in other words if I have an old grandfathered package does it affect that in any way?

Thanks for the heads up by the way
