Adding additional receivers

I switched back to DirecTV from cable about 4 months ago. I only ordered one HR20. I want to add 3 more receivers. I have 2 old DirecTivo units and one old philips unit. If I just want to activate those do I just call DirecTV? If I want to order another HR20 how do I and how much does it cost? I would also need a new multiswitch as my old one is a Mpeg2 unit. How would I go about getting all this installed? Should I just buy a multiswitch myself and get everything install?

Hey Sycho,

For the 3 SD receivers (assuming they are D*TiVos), you can call D* and have them activated.

For the 2nd HR-20, again you can call and the going rate varies depending on your account and who you talk to, but they're not giving them away during this holiday season ;)

For the switch, you need the Zinwell WB68. D* should provide this to you at no charge and should also upgrade your installation at no charge depending on what you finally decide to do. Adding an HR20, the upgrade's a lock. Without that, I would gently remind them that you're adding 3 monthly mirroring fees to your account so an upgrade should be free.
