I added up all my D* invoices for 2007 and it came to $2,176 and that doesn't include any charges for new receivers, just programming and a new RF remote. Hope the wife doesn't find out how much my habit costs;)

So what do you have service wise that the grand total is about 181 a month? Mine is 76 a month plus sunday ticket (230 I think), still is less than half what you pay. How many receivers do you have? What other sports packages do you get?

I have Premier, HD Access, four additional receivers for the every month charges. I also had to pay for Sunday Ticket (got Superfan for N/C), NASCAR, NBA-LP plus in Texas we pay tax.

$1388.62. Coincidentally that includes a new rf remote also. When it beats the power bill for the year at $2171.48, then I will worry.

Wow, I guessed you would have had a few sports packages. I didn't know that Texas is taxing satellite service. They don't in Washington state (yet).

And just a heads up I found out the NASCAR hotpass is going to be $40 a year starting next year (that includes the HD feeds).

I'm afraid to add it up. Premier, NFL-ST, NBA-LP, MLB-EI, Playboy, HD and 11 DVRs. I'm thinking just south of $2500.

Right around the $500 dollar mark (for the year, not the month).
I have Total Choice Plus w/locals
HD access
DVR service
NFLST
MLBEI
MLBEI Superfan
Hotpass
A PTNW access. :D
Acquired two additional HR20s back in March for $0 total dollars. :)

I'd tell you how, but I'd have to kill all of you. I'd don't have the time to kill everyone, and if I did that wouldn't be good for the site viewer/membership.

I have total choice plus, DVR's, HBO, Showtime, HD and 3 boxes. I also got a new HR20 a couple of months ago along with a 5 LNB dish and installation.

My total bill for this year will be $780.

The good news is that because of credits, as long as I don't add anything, my total bill next year will be about $600

You can spend a fortune on DirecTV, or you can get quite a bit of enjoyment from the service while on a budget or a fixed income like me.

I had Total Choice Plus w/locals for many years and one or two additional single-room receivers. But after the price hike in March, I really started to look at those DirecTV bills and how many of those channels I really watched. (very few)

So I switched to the FAMILY package ($29.99). Lo and behold, this must have raised a flag and I was offered a DVR upgrade PLUS $5 off my bill for a year so I took it. I liked it so much, I added a second DVR for FREE using the magic online code that no longer works. My monthly bill? $35.97 + tax. For TWO DVR's, and FAMILY. Oh, I almost forgot. I ordered an RF remote which got totally screwed up and was never shipped. On my SECOND call to the CSR's to get it fixed, it was and after grumbling I got 3 months of Showtime for free!

Last month I even splurged for a PPV movie (the $1.99 special)!!!! :D :D

And to be very clear, I get no discounts for being a moderator. Tho I do get to talk to a lot of really neat people, both DBSTalk'ers and DIRECDTV'ers. :)

In the neighborhood of $2600.

But it will go down at least $160 because I dropped Hotpass and 2 receivers, but will have to add the HD Extra Pack.

We were well over $2500 with the purchase of three HR20s, powered multiswitch, and the flip-top lcd/receiver for my wife's office.
Programming with six receivers and MLB EI (DirecTV sent me two DVRs at no charge) is about $110 a month although that's going down as we canceled HBO (first time I won't have it since 1976)

$1725 for the past 12 months.

That includes monthly fees for Total Choice Plus (Grandfathered), HD and HBO. I also have two HR20's and a D10 receiver. The total includes the initial fees for the two DVR's and an HD receiver (D10) no longer in use. Lastly, I also have NFLST and SF included.

Around $1700 for Premiere, ST, SF, HD acess, 2 recievers.

I didn't even figure out the % of my broadband bill to use DOD, or equipment upgrade expenses!

I think I'm going to be sick!

Wonder if there's any way I can claim TV as a business expense?

I disagree men would discuss TV costs...however asking how much you spent on BEER would be forbidden. The only thing worse would be to ask how much you spent on lap dances.

With the exception of somebody that has the titanium package, I'm willing to bet my annual bill is the highest of anyone else here. I added it all up and it came to

3454.45.

To be fair though that did have a 19.99 equipment delivery fee in there. (New free HR20)

$402 of that was taxes. Damn Florida and our 13.17% Tax.

$816 in programming, sold HR10-250 for about $230, got one HR20 for $20 (silly handing fee), a 2nd one for $106 ($99+tax).

Total Net cost through the year, about $712.
