I guess we have learned not to expect much, but FYI, the chat is tomorrow.

Will there be a Charlie Chat Chat?

I encourage each one of you unhappy DP victims to call and TRY to slip one past the screeners. Charlie NEEDS TOO KNOW HOW MUCH HIS CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS DETORIATED. ands how the mail to CEO has been ignored.

Lets ALL give it a shot!

Yes there will be a Charlie Chat... Chat tonight here at DBSTalk.COM!

Our Chat starts at 8:30PM at http://chat.dbstalk.com/

Should be an interesting chat to say the least. :)

The Chat will only be full of "since the merger didn't go through" justification for the price increase, "look what all we've added...2 Max ch.s & Vision TV (yawn), and brags about their showing at CES. Hardly worth the effort. I will watch anyway....so, surprise me!

I don't know. I don't think Charlie deserves as bad a rap as that.

I don't mean to knock Charlie, that's just the way the programs have been going lately. I suppose we keep up w/ things so closely at this forum that we know too much in advance By the time it airs, it is usually old news to us. I'm still very pro E* & Charlie.

Toomuchtv has a good point. We tend to get information quite some time before it is announced, so the Chat can seem like nothing new. For the subscribers who get Cinemax or better yet Cinemax and HBO the Chat will be great news. Two more movie channels and the cost will actually go DOWN. And to some they will learn they are paying $2 more a month, which I believe will mean little to the vast majority of subscribers. By coming to this site in itself makes us more sensitive to what goes on with DBS than to most subscribers.

I still would like to see some west coast feeds.

Also, there is now an active channel called Nick Too. No, I don't want it, but it'll probably be relegated to the same category of PBS Kids.

If I am not mistaken Nick Toons is just a re-named Nich West feed. Nich Too is also not a new channel it has ben on digital cable for quite some time.

There's 2 Viacom channels with similar names, there's Nick Too, which you are correct is the west coast feed of Nick, and then there's Nick Toons TV, a relatively new channel featuing Nickelodeon cartoons.

I agree wth toomuchtv. Still pretty happy overall with Dish. Even with todays outage and the occasional rain fade, I still have more reliability than I had with cable. Still though, Charlie would be well served to drop the bitterness about the merger not going through stuff which was so obvious in the last Charlie Chat. He was dissappointed and down. I would expect a CEO to handle that better, but I'll give him a slide for one program. If its still there tonight, it will say a lot about him and the future of Dish Network.

Maybe he gets involved with it more than just with money but with pride. He has gotten more greedy though and does not take the same stride as he used to it seems but it is a bigger company now and more going on now so what is one to expect?

I don't understand why E* doesn't list their own show on the EPG. This should be basic.

i agree,
we shouldn't knock Charlie down too much - it is not that easy to run this kinda business, satisfying Everyone around at the same time..

I think it is time to move on from the DP fees thing. Or, at the very least, to restrict it to one thread. We know some people are angry but these are the same folks that seemed annoyed when others stated their opinions more than once.

hum, this one is different Kim Catralle(sex in the city) on the show. Is this a talk show? Ah well, hopefully they won't do this every charlie chat.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone as uncomfortable as Charlie was with Kim Cattral. The other guy on the other hand looked like he wanted to get downright dirty with her. Another interesting chat though. I didn't know about the half season packages. The best part though was Charlie pretending to know what cricket was, hahaha. $299 for it is a little steep though. Nice to see someone ask about HDNET; too bad nothing concrete came of it.

I think Charlie said that EchoStar 6 is moving to 110 to replace EchoStar 5. Funny, that caller from Alaska is gonna have a bigger trouble now because E*6 provided less signal to Alaska than E*5 while it was at 119W.

Well - some locals were announced and coming soon

Omaha - on Jan 16 ( finally this baby is coming to subs :) )
some Cedar Rapids (IA?) coming on Jan 30
and some Chico - coming on Feb 6

I saw worse chats - so i will not knock it hard :)

Well, if EchoStar 6 goes to 110, it may provide just as much as EchoStar 5, due to the different orientation.

BTW: Charlie did not mention any specific satellites would be swapped. It does seem as though EchoStar 5 and EchoStar 6 would be the only available ones for this purpose.

Was it said when the supposed E*5 to E*6 swap may be taking place? I did not watch the entire chat and missed this part.
