So Comcast has a Yule Log in HD.

Is there one on any of the DirecTV channels?

I would like one for Friday, if not it's off to the Video Store.

It is a very cool backdrop for a family gathering/Christmas party.... It would be even cooler if they could map the XM 'Holly' station onto it...

BTW, watched the Yule Log last year on my 50 inch TV. That is not a burning log, it looked like a forest fire!

same here, I saved the recording from last year and will use it for Christmas party and Christmas eve

I don't know. A 58" wide fire in the middle of my wall does not sound too appetizing. However I have a real fireplace, so a little background music is all I require.

last year yule log and the story surrounding it were broadcast on WGN. Yule Log aired at 3:30AM EST Christmas day and I believe the story aired at 2:00 AM or so. Check the guide in a day or so.

Every time I hear of this Yule Log thing I am reminded of the "scenery channels" on Back to the Future II. They were right on one thing er...two things(No Cubs World Series =).

One option is iYule.tv (http://iYule.tv). I purchased it to use with my AppleTV, and it is great. The soundtrack is pretty decent, though putting something like this on a DirecTV channel with the Holly audio would be a fantastic idea.

I would like the Yule Log if it were not a 7 second loop. For goodness sake just show a real fire. Just imagine the excitement each time a new log is added...and the suspense as the fire get low That would be just awesome.

As sad as it sounds, I'd like to see LogTV myself. I remember it from a few years back (pre-DirecTV for me) and thought it was great.

As a kid in No Jersey we used to watch the Yule Log listening to the music every year.

The holiday music XM just isn't the same without the Yule Log and I would love to see it again. :righton:

Got that as a stocking stuffer for the wife last year. She loves it.

I've always wanted to shove a TV/DVD Player combo unit in my fireplace with a Yule Log DVD running on a loop.

Why not have D* send a 2 hour loop of it to our showvases and allow us to loop it on out DVR's or broadcast it on like channel 1000 for a couple hours and allow DVR users to record it?

Use the Yule Log DVD and have the tv play the audio of the crackling fire, then set your D* receiver to the Holly Channel and have that output to your sound system.
