I had directv about 6 years ago. Still have 2 of my boxes.
Thinking of going back to them. Do they offer anything to turn in old receivers?
Thanx

What kind of receivers are they? If they are the Tivo's that D* issued a while back, they might give you a discount on new HD boxes. :)

I really doubt it, considering they would rather give you new equipment most often.
But if they are TIVO model receivers - I am sure some people would want them.

Here's what I was offered...
Called Sunday for renewal (former customer for 6+ yrs 'til 1Q07) and the only deal was a we want you back deal received in the mail ( 1 $99 credit for HD receiver or HD DVR + $10 credit for 10 months + $10 credit for 12 months). Got nothing for previosuly purchased HD receivers & DVR.
Upfront costs after $99 credit is at least $500 :( ($199 DVR after credit; $99 x 3 for HD receivers; $19.95 shipping & handling).

Just out of curiosity based on your 'confused' smiley: Why would anyone expect they would give you anything for your old equipment? They would not be putting it back into service and would only have to dispose of it. Now you've got me  !
