One of the things I do very regularly with my Netflix is I do a sort by star rating. It helps me pick out which movies that I want to consider renting.

Most movies in Dish Network info have a star rating. That is great but it seems as if there is only one way to see them. You have to select the movie in the guide and then look at the info.

I would rather be able to search for all 3-5 star movies and then select which ones that I record.

Is there anyway to do this on the DVR or online?

I don't see the big deal about the star ratings because a great deal of the time I disagree with them?

No way in the DVR but go to Rotten Tomatoes (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/)for full info on any movie.

The star ratings are not so useful to me. I use the Internet Movie Database (http://www.imdb.com/) and, after checking out user reviews, usually follow the links from there to Roger Ebert's review.

However, when I'm in a hurry, I go to my listings at Film.com (http://www.film.com/tv/listings) which I have set for Dish and Movies. The listings show star ratings for some films, sometimes ones I am not familiar with which helps find some films I didn't know I wanted to watch.

I haven't found a web site that provides easy star rating correlations to my available tv channels.

The ratings only go up to 4 on Dish. In any event, there is no way to search by star ratings. Most of the time, I don't agree with them anyway. If you're basing your viewing decisions on star ratings, you are truely doing yourself a disservice. Just because a movie has a high star rating doesn't guarantee you're going to like it. I have enjoy many, many films with "low" star ratings.
