Is anyone else still waiting for the 168 software update? I called
Dish, but i gave up after I had to explain to them that it did contain other features than 167!!

I just activated a new 508 last night, and didn't get 168 when it started up. I need to make sure it's off tonight (and no timers) to see if it gets it then.

I don't have it yet. It takes Dish about 3 weeks to send the new software to everyone, so if I don't have it by the end of the month, I'll start to get worried.
I have it on 1 of three PVRs the oldest one I hope they cycle through them rapidly this software seems pretty good and works so far.

You can check against that list of R### what posted on other web site - look under PVR forum for DarrelIP post.

I haven't gotten the update yet either. But, thats ok. The longer its out there where others can beta test it for me the better. I have my 508 set to ask me before updating. I don't want to be on the leading edge of new software. Let it run for a few weeks and see what needs to be fixed before jumping onboard. I'm sure everyone complaining that they haven't gotten the upgrade yet would be real pissed if they got it early and it caused major league problems. I'll just sit back and be patient. It'll get here.

With Increased subs and previous sub upgrades it has reached the point with just # of recievers takes every SW release a while(used to be the 3800 and 4700 were the most populous) the 301 and the 50x have pretty high #s.
My second 501 got the update last night. Now all I need is the 508, I'll just have to keep shutting it off overnight until it gets the upgrade.

If the download is spooled to your PVR and you aren't around it will interrupt any timers you have setup to go off and prevent anything from being recorded with a banner asking you if you want to download the new free upgrade.

As we see from that lists, spooling for old models 2700 to 4900 cover all receiver numbers - the range is 1...4000000000. So, only number of different SW versions could affect delay for download.
Not too much was add last year - 301, 501/508 and 721.
