Looks like Dish Network is having another outtage. I am chatting with a few retailers who are getting calls from customers saying 110 is out again.

Anyone having a problem?

What has more outtages? Cable TV or Dish Network? Whats going on?

I received word from one of my contacts that there was a brief outtage on 110 (Customers who were watching TV and not flipping through channels noticed no problem)

I am told service is restored now.

I am not experiencing any outages beyond transponder 13 and 29. However, my dish needs to be re-aligned by a technician.

What channels are being specifically mentioned?

What is going on at E*? Are these outages caused by the janitor mopping the floors in the uplink center? Is the power company spiking the lines, burning out all the UPSs at E*? They need to get to the root of these problems ASAP.

It is quite possible it is items out of Dish countrol (like the fiber provider doing all the backhauls), the power company (seems that they would have enough UPSs to hold them over), new equipment they just bought is really buggy (or perhaps the Dishplayer software was reused by Microsoft in a new piece of uplink equipment), etc.

I agree. Something isn't kosher at the uplink center, and this is what, the third outage within a week. Wayyy beyond coincidence.

Maybe they didn't provide an answer last night because THEY don't have a answer yet.

Even if they doidnt understand what was causing the outages a blanket were working toi correct it was certinally needed. Appears Jim de franco didnt know there had been a outage atr all duringf a dealer chat.

I am seriously concerned, is charlie or someone close to him seriously ill, Charlie depressed? He doesnt appear the same person he used to.

Maybe they've been trying to test the new compressed guide info  ?

Would compressing the guide or software upgrades be causing this? It is coming from 119 now 110? How odd is that?

All of the outages we've seen seem to be the "if you don't change channels during it, you don't notice" type, which leads me to believe they're loosing channel-map and other data links through the birds, but not the programming.

During the "biggie" that happened recently, I could use the dish pointing screen and it'd show signal at 119 but say "wrong sat" which leads me to believe it was not getting whatever data IDs the E* birds from other sats out there.

Only speculation, they may be moving channels between transponders and only if you switch channels or the one you are watching is being moved causes an issue.

Well, I didn't change any channels, and it still went out on me.

which is interesting, cuz I have 501 and 721 that record several times DAILY and this is the first I have heard of any outage...haven't noticed a thing

The 501 and 721 did not go out because the pvr units did not experience the problem for some reason when the other ones did.

I am sure DirecTv has had some outages before as well, I have heard of them a while back.

But none right now. I was just kidding anyway. My reasons for sticking with D* are more equipment related and familiarity with the brand name.
