If I have Directv (TIVO SD reciever and R15 Receiver) and want to get a TIVO HD receiver - is it possible to get TIVO HD separtely and have it working on my Directv system? Or do I have to get the HR 20?

Stand alone Tivo will not work with DirecTV.

Agreed... there is no solution on the horizon for TiVo-based HD DVRs to get DIRECTV programming.

This has been moved to the TiVo Forum.

Thanks - just checking as I am planning to go HD but do not want to lose my TIVO as I love it so much.

Believe me... I moved from the Dtivo to the HR20 4 months ago and I like the HR20 better. I don't like using the Tivo in the spare room much anymore.

Really. From what I have heard the HR20 is not as user friendly. I will definitely miss the DLB. I have an R15 - is the HR 20 pretty much the same - apart from the HD ofcourse? I dont like the response time on the R15 - -when I press a command on the remote - it takes longer than what it does on the TIVO.

Plus there is no skip (it's more like a fast forward skip).

Thanks.

I also have an R15, but I will admit I don't use it very much, it's in my daughters room. I find that the HR20 has a better response time then the R15. I also like the interface on the HR20 better than the Dtivo. The Dtivo is basically in a spare room recording overflow.

Another vote for the HR20, I have 2 of them, and 1 HR10 in the guest room, and I really dislike the Tivo now that I am used to the HR20's

A 30 second skip is in the works. Check out the CE forum for more info. The HR20 is pretty responsive. I have an R15 in my office and the HR20 is much better.

If you really want a Tivo, and you can get your locals OTA, the HR10-250 is pretty cheap on E-Bay right now.
