For the last several months, I have been unable to get any advance programing info for many stations from the so-called 7 day guide (Maybe half hour ahead). Many stations say "info not available." What's the deal ? Is this a DISH issue or a network issue ? If it's a network issue, then I would assume every other system, cable included, would be experiencing the same problem. Any answers. I have not yet passed these queries on to DISH.
What type of reciever do you have?
If you have a PVR, which stores programming info on the hard drive so that you can view programming info instantly, then you might be having a problem.
If you have anything other than a PVR (e.g. 3900, 301) then you are experiencing a problem that EVERYONE has. The problem with these recievers is that EPG info is not stored on the reciever, so when you hit the Guide button, the reciever starts retrieving the programming info for hundreds and hundreds of channels. "Info Not Available" will stay there until the reciever retrieves all the programming info from ALL of the hundreds of channels. Yes, it's a pain in the butt, but it's a problem we all experience. :(
Dish is working on compressing the guide to reduce the data stream to correct this on one of the Charlie Chats the engineers promised Jan.

Kevin, I dont have a PVR. If the receiver is gathering info from the guide I believe it says "please wait while we retrieve info" or something to that effect. (Like when sorting into themes.) Thus, when the guide comes up presumably it is done downloading.
