I really enjoy this forum and thought I might ask a couple of questions about my new R15-500.

After being a Dish DVR subscriber for many years and now a new DTV DVR subscriber, there are a couple of features I miss from my Dish DVR service. I'm not sure if they are possible and I don't know what I'm doing or they are just not availiable.

The first is a "Live TV" button on the remote. Say you are watching a live show and step out of the room for 5-10 minutes without putting the show on pause. You watch the rest of the show and decide you want to go back and watch the 5-10 minutes you missed. You rewind to that point and watch what you missed. Instead of fast forwarding to get back to live programming, you could push the "Life TV" button to automatically take you to live TV.

The second feature is a "Start Over" option under your saved DVR events. Say you start a saved movie and only wach half of the show. It takes a couple of weeks before you get back to watching the movie and want to start back at the beginning. Insead of having to rewind back you could use the "Start Over" option to automatically start at the beginning.

Thanks for your help.

I'm not positive, but I think if you hold the skip button ~ 3 seconds it will jump to ~ 30 seconds before live. At least that's the way it works on recordings.
There's no way to start the show from the beginning, but if you start it and hold the repeat button it will jump back to the beginning.

Those are the best ways to do it.

Another way to get to live time on a channel is to press the channel up then channel down buttons. However, this will dump the buffer. So you only want to do this if you don't plan on rewinding the program back again.

To jump to the end... hold down the forward advance button (just above FF) for about 3 seconds.

"Start Over" is a feature of the HD-DVR (the HR20)
Which will make it's way to the SD-DVR
