View Full Version : Local HD's cutting out in the morning
Lately I've noticed that my local HD's are cutting out really bad in the morning
They seem to be fine in the evening, but in the morning it's really bad
My question is, what satellite are the locals on so I can check the strength signals?
Also, what could be causing the channels to only cut out in the mornings but not in the evenings as well?

my guess would be your locals is on ethier 99 or 103(a). those would be the one's to check on your signals. now you could have moister/dew that forms over night cause you to get moister somewhere in the connections.

Post back with your signal readings on each satellite's transponders from your Satellite Setup menu.
Your local HD channels for Houston, TX were recently moved from 103(a) to 103(b). That's the signal strength panel we need to see. In the morning. :)

Thanks
My signals on 103(b) are all in the 90's
I'm getting 0's however on 103(a)
What does this mean?
I'll check the signals in the morning as well

Be sure to check those readings when you see the signal cutting in & out or pixelating. If your locals are beamed from 103(b), then zeros on 103(a) are nothing to worry about. What are your readings on 99?

I just checked the numbers on 103(b)
They are all in the low to high 90's
So far this morning I have not noticed any cutting out on the local HD's
So maybe the issues I was having was only temporary (hopefully)
My readings on 99(b) are:
0 0 91 33 0 41
What does this mean?
Is that normal?

Probably normal for your location. All of the 99(b) transponders are "spot beams" and only aim at certain cities. Obviously transponder 3 is the only one aimed near you.
