I received 10 Free PPV movie coupons each worth a 3.99 credit towards my bill. Does anyone know if you can use these coupons towards a HD PPV movie and just pay for the difference ($1.00).

I got those last year and emailed to ask the same question. They said yes that I could just pay the difference.

I not sure why I get them. I received 10 last year as well. I didn't have HD service at that time so I used them for the SD PPV movies.

Are these paper coupons with the paper bill? I don't get a paper bill since everything is auto drafted.

I would get the PPV coupons years ago. I havn't seen any in a while though and I'm still paper billed. I don't like having too many people just grabbing money from my account when they feal like it. I'd rather bill pay online when it's convenient for me.
I got 10 of these right after getting my HR20-700. I've never used them and I think they have to be redeemed by 31 Dec 2007, so I am out of luck. For the electronic bill pay, these would have had to be used by mid-November probably in order to have time to get the D* bill and send the coupon(s) in for redemption.
Does anyone know if D* has extended the policy on these coupons?

DirecTV apparently noticed me switching my basic package around after 6 years of Total Choice Plus. WARNING: Longtime subscriber not happy and shopping around. Get subscriber under commitment before he cancels!!! And they were right on the money, too.
And so I got an email offering one of THREE "free gifts":
1. 12 PPV movie coupons
2. Ten bucks off my bill for six months
3. A FREE SD DVR Upgrade PLUS five bucks off the bill for a year
Selection 1 and 2 required a ONE YEAR commitment, selection 3 required a TWO YEAR commitment.
I chose selection 3 and got an R15. I love it!!! So two months later I used the clever online code mentioned on this system to get a SECOND R15 for free (so what-I extended my commitment a whole two months and the second one replaced an existing standard receiver so the bill remains the same).

Could someone explain how to use those coupons? I got some coupons a while ago but never used them. As I recall, it sounded like you had to order the movie, then send the coupon to directv and wait for a credit? Seems like a silly manual process that could be easily automated - for example, they could have an interface on the web or even in the box menu that let you type-in a unique, one-use code from the coupon that created instant credit - or - how about simply applying the PPV credit directly to my account and letting me decrement against it? Their process seems specifically designed to minimize use...
I have been getting my bill online instead of thru the mail, for some reasonm, seeing I never changed it to paperless.
I pay once a year, they never send me anything like a movie coupon.
Billy bob has a good point, it would be real easy to order online and place a code in a box for the offer.

For online bill people just print your bill and mail the coupon in with it.
It works.
Also some get the PPV coupons on that promo where you were offered a free portal DVD player, They ran out.
Most get the bonus offer when you call on the friends and family referral program.
(someone referred you).
