Looking for scripted TV you probably haven't seen? Kidnapped and Touching Evil are scheduled for Sundays on UHD beginning January 6.

Kidnapped was pulled by NBC after 5 of 13 episodes aired in 2006. Timothy Hutton and Dana Delaney star as a wealthy and powerful New York couple whose teenage son has been kidnapped. With local law enforcement, the FBI, and a private negotiating team all working on the case, one might think the boy would be rescued in no time...but as the series unfolds, it becomes clear that this "perfect" family may be hiding a few dark secrets of their own. Other stars are Jeremy Sisto and Delroy Lindo.

Thirteen episodes of Touching Evil originally appeared on USA in 2004 but was cancelled. Jeffrey Donovan stars as Detective David Creegan, who after surviving a near-fatal gunshot wound to the head, takes a 12-month psychological leave of absence. He returns to work for the FBI's new Organized and Serial Crime Unit, a rapid-response, elite crime squad. His brush with death renders him fearless in his relentless pursuit of justice as he and his partner Vera Farminga specialize in solving shocking, high profile crimes.

Wow, that is cool. Great news! I watched both series. Touching Evil was great, but the final episode ran longer and the damn DirecTiVo didn't record it so I missed the last 10 minutes or so. Kidnapped was reaired on NBC over the summer at like 2 in the morning but in SD. I'll be watching both again, can't want to see what if Leo is finally rescued in Kidnapped.

Thanks for sharing this. I loved Touching Evil on USA, and was surprised it did not make it ... Was it ahead of its time or just out of touch with what viewers wanted? I'll be watching. If anyone's never see this, just watch the opening episode - I thought it was fantastic. (And you may recognize the star - he played Jarrod's brother, Kyle, on NBC's Pretender and is now the star of USA's Burn Notice.

I'll also pick up on Kidnapped again ... I never watched the conclusion when it was only available on NBC's web site, so I still don't know who "done" it.

Be sure that the TE SL took. I had mine set but it did not pick up the 6Jan 5 or 9pm. Had to set it manually.

I'm going to have to look at the To Do list for next week, though, as my default settings are to record First Run Only. I have no idea what UHD is reporting these as, so I may have to switch to Record First Run and Repeats if the scheduler doesn't pick these up for next week ...

I am watching Touching Evil right now. I had to turn off DD on the HR20 again to get a center channel. Damn it, when will UHD get a clue?

I watched the pilot and it was not half bad. Not as good as Dexter but not bad. The sound problem burns deep, but beggars and choosers.

I'm just watching the 2-hour movie for the Pliot of Touching Evil, and you want to know who's evil? Universal HD, that's who! Do they know nothing about when to insert commercials? They seem to just be randomly inserted in the middle of scenes or UHD is cutting off the scenes early to go to commercial...

Makes me want to stop watching.

Yeah, they do some better than others. We were bummed when Touching Evil wasn't renewed. But it seems like another show in HD - even better.
