I am getting a searching for Satellite message for a lot of the Standard Def channels. It happens a lot on the music channels, but the SD HBO channels are also giving me this message. My HD Channels are fine. I have 2 HR20's, and one SD Tivo receiver. All of these are getting the same messages. Before I get on the phone with Tech support, is there anything I can try on my end? When I check the Satellite signals should I be looking for a particular sat/transponder?

Since you have stated that the standard channels are having the problem, you need to check the 101 Satellite. Transponder 1 and 2 can give you a good idea - but 26 out of the 32 listed need to be high.
If you post your strengths here, we will try and help :)

I got on the phone with Direct TV, two times, and all they could offer me was a $70 tech visit, or the protection plan. I refused to pay either, and why should I when I pay my bills on time, and have been a customer for 12+ YEARS.
I got transferred to Customer Retention, and without much explanation I was able to get the service plan add for 12 months, and to off set the cost I got $10 credit on my bill for the next 12 months. The technician will be out Tuesday afternoon. And the guy from retention was actually able to narrow down the problem for me. According to him the standard def signal comes of Sat 101. When I did a Sat signal strength on 101 the odd transponders were fine, but I was getting nothing on the even transponders. That explains why I was only getting half of my SD programming. The rep figures it's either a problem with the dish, but most likely a faulty multi-switch. He doesn't think the positioning of the dish is an issue. Either way I will know more on Tuesday.

Something like an odd-even problem rarely has anything to do with the alignment. Bad multiswitch- likely.
I am glad to hear you were able to speak to someone who could resolve it.
