I am feeding a picture from the h20-700 ,which is located in my basement to a tv in the kitchen (component cable )and also to a tv in the basement (hdmi) so i will need a rf setup for the remote in the kitchen and either a ir or rf remote for the basement . Can anyone tell me how to do it ? I have searche dthe forum with no success .

It's probably easier if you download the remote manual from [http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/customer/downloadPage.jsp?assetId=1100066. This has more detailed information than the receiver manual or the on-screen instructions.

First you set it up for RF with one of the remotes, then repeat the "activating the RF transmitter" procedure with the second one.

The box itself is only capable of running in 1 mode, IR or RF. Seeing that you have a distance requirement you'll need to go RF or purchase an expensive aftermarket remote that works on RF and has a IR blaster at the other side.

When you switch your remote to RF, you enter the receiver ID into the remote. I believe if you enter that same ID into two remotes, both would work but I've never tried it. Change your remote mode to IR on the H20, then change it back to RF and it will walk you through the setup process. Try that on two remotes and report back.
