Here's a list of the signal strengths I just pulled from my HR20-700:

I keep dropping the signal on some of the HD channels coming from 110. I've read elsewhere in here that if I have good signal strength on 101 and 119 that 110 should fall in line so I'm trying to figure out the most likely cause of the poor signal from 110.

I've got about 100' of cable from the dish (Slimline) to a WB68 Zinwell in my basement and then about 30' from there to the HR20. I don't seem to have any problems with another non-HD Tivo receiver up in the bedroom.

It may sound like I know what I'm talking about and that assumption would be partly right :). I've installed my own dishes before but the is the first one I've had that is HD and D* came out and installed it a few weeks ago.

Strong signals on 101 and 119 with weak signals on 110 usually means something is blocking your dish's view of that satellite. Or a defective LNB/multiswitch in the dish. What type of 5-LNB dish do you have?

I was afraid that was going to be one of the possibilities. I've got some tall trees behind my house that I was able to get through fine before the HD upgrade. The dish is an AU9 Slimline.

Thanks,
Dave

Are the trees on your property or neighbors? I think the next thing to try out (assuming you can't move the dish to the right or left) is to do a little trimming and see if that satellite's signals come back up.

The trees are actually in a "wetlands" area around a stream between my back yard and the house behind me. Legally that means I can't touch them and the dish is in the only place they could get a good signal when I originally had D* installed 3 1/2 years ago.
