For the 99 and 103 sats, which transponders are national transponders, and which are spotbeams. Just trying to figure out why I have low or NO signal on some transponders. Just want to make sure they're spotbeams I'm not getting anything off anyway.

I don't think we have a good listing of what is on these spotbeamed birds yet and what cities they all serve yet.

It's a fairly safe bet if you get all of the channels that you are supposed to have (HD and SD locals, HD and SD nationals) than those low numbers on some transponders are because you are outside the spotbeam range of those particular channels. Nothing to be concerned about.

Although it would be pretty cool to receive every local channel that exists lol.

Spaceway 1 and 2 are I believe called 99b and 103a in the HR20. I think these are carrying HD local channels only at the moment usign sptobeams only. DirecTV 10 that came on line in September is called 103b. That is carrying the new MPEG4national HD channels and I also think some spotbeams for HD locals as well. Not all transponders will show up on the signal strength page as being operational.

I'm just wondering if my low signal strengths are on spotbeams, or national channels. I'm getting 103 (s) and 103 (c). These are what I'm getting:

103 (s)
38, 0, 0, 0, 37, 0, N/A, N/A
N/A, N/A, N/A, N/A, N/A, N/A, 85, 0
95, 100, 0, 0, 0, 0, 91, 0
N/A, N/A N/A, N/A, N/A, N/A, N/A, N/A

103 (c)
91, 95, 88, 91, 89, 93, 89, 95
91, 94, 91, 95, 93, 95, N/A, N/A
95, N/A, N/A, N/A, N/A, 0 N/A, N/A

Since you obviously have a CE release of the software this is really the WRONG place to post, you will just confuse everyone with the 103(s) and 103(c) designations. 103(s) is spotbeams, that's what the s means. And 103(c) is CONUS or national channels, that's what the c means.
And for anyone who reads this post before (hopefully) it is moved to the CE section of the forum, the 103(a) screen on the HD receivers and DVRs has spotbeams from the two satellites at 103 (Spaceway 1 and DirecTV10) and the 103(b) screen has all the national channels from DirecTV10. In the latest test software for the HR20 these are renumbered 103(s) and 103(c) to avoid (or maybe to create!) confusion. This change will eventually appear on all the HD receivers/DVRs.

This whole discussion has moved to the Cutting Edge. Please remember folks, what happens in CE stays in CE.

Sorry. I knew about how quickly the signal strengths came up in the new CE release, but didn't realize THIS had anything to do with it too.
