View Full Version : 2- HDMI Cables
All, I have installed of the low voltage coax and network cable in my home when under construction earlier last spring. Between the HD receiver and HD-DVD location to the TV I ran a 1-1/4 inch flexible non metal conduit. It was my intent to run both cables through the raceway and hook into HDMI 1+2 on the TV. However the conduit is too small to run both (HDMI) wires through. I piggy backed the ends but was still not enough space. I would need approx 20 foot runs for each cable. My question is their anything out there that would work? It is the ends (size) that are the primary probelm.

Will neither end of the HDMI cable fit into the conduit? Or is the problem tha one cable fits fine, but getting the second thru becasue of the size of the ends combined w/ the thickness of the first cable make it impossible to get both in?

If you can find the HDMI cable and connectors sold separately, then you could run the cable and add the ends.
Maybe this site will have something.

The cheapest one I have found would cost $600 per HDMI run not including the cost of the the 2 HDMI cables and 2 cat5 cables per run.

One of the few places that breaks the rules. Good products at cheap prices that you get fast. Normally, you get to pick any two.

This is exactly the problem. I thought there might be HDMI cables that had a diffrent connector in the middle (narow) for installing in conduit because of the large end size.

Another option is to use an HDMI switch at the receiver/DVD location, and just run 1 HDMI to the TV. I would get at least a 4X1 to allow for expansion. Again, check monoprice, should be able to get a 4x1 for under $50. Harmony remotes can usually add the switch action to activities with no problem.

All my component goes over UTP as well.
