View Full Version : HDVR 2 problem - reaquiring info stuck at 63%
I have a HDVR2 that I've had for several years. I long ago hacked it for the standalone software that allowed picture and music sharing. The kids have had it in the family room for a couple years now and I haven't paid it much attention.
However, yesterday it wouldn't go to live TV. It said it needed to re-acquire satellite data, but stalled at 63% every time. It powers up fine, I can watch all the stored shows, but I just can't go to live tv because it won't finish re-aquiring the data.
I've already tried rebooting it and unplugging it.
Any thoughts? I'm hoping it's not the hard drive because I can still watch all the recorded shows just fine, I just can't go to live tv.
I appreciate the advice.
I had 3 E86 and a Panasonic doing that moments ago. They seem to be okay now.

What are you signal readings? Can you move it to another location, connect it there, and see if it boots up properly? This will help you determine if it's a defective Tivo or something wrong with the satellite cable feeding the family room.

This is due to something from the sat itself - all sorts of people have had this issue today, myself included.
Seems to be many nationwide reporting the reacquiring info screen this afternoon.

Signal readings are 97-98%. I will try tomorrow to hook it up where my HR20 is and see if that makes any difference. And I'll stick around to see if it gets resolved for anyone else.
My wife saw it yesterday at about 3:00 pm while using the HR10. It claimed to need to acquire satalite info twice within a 20 minute time frame. I checked the settings screen and there was a service call completed at 3:18 pm, not the usual time for a call on this TiVo. It is on 6.3e software.

Nope, hooked up in the other room, same problem.

Sounds like a defective tuner then. Not much you can do about that, except replace it.
