HR20 - why no "tune this channel now" option in guide?

I'm crusing thru the guide, and I've arrowed over to a show that's 30 mins or an hour from now, but I want to tune the channel now. Press the orange select button and I get the options to Record Episode, Record Series, etc. but not "tune the damn channel now!". My old SA8300HD cable box had this option. Grrrr....

Go to the current program and press select and you will tune to the channel. Alternatively, scroll all the way left to the channel indicator and press select and that will also tune to the channel, press INFO on the channel indicator and an option will be to tune to the channel.

It won't get upset and call it a damn channel though. It's less emotional about a user's learning curve.

If you press the Info button, the "Watch Now" option only appears for the program in the guide that is currently on the air. "Watch Now" does not appear if you're looking at a program in a future time slot in the Guide. I guess D* didn't want to confuse users who might think the HR20 is a time machine and can watch a program that hasn't happened yet. :rolleyes:

Exactly. Only if you're on the currently playing show or on the channel indicator itself. Like you say, you can't watch what is in the future.

The green button scrolls ahead 12 hours and the red back twelve hours so if you find yourself in this situation often just press red then select and you'll likely achieve what you're after. You'll get used to it. It's just a bit different than what you've trained yourself to believe is "right".
