I'm new to this forum and really love it. I'm really looking forward to my new setup, that if it ever gets installed. I live in the Houston, Tx and we are serviced by a company called JP&D Digital. These guys are joke! I used to be a customer and never remember installs being like this.

So if you are in for reading an interesting timeline...here it is:

1/ 5/08: Followed up with DirecTV to confirm appointment. Appointment confirmed for next day from 12-4pm.

1/6/08 @ 3pm: (Josh) – CSR contacted local provider (JP&D Digital). There installer did not answer cell phone. They left voice mail for him to call me regarding arrival time.

1/6/08 @ 4:13pm: (Scott) – CSR contacted local provider (JP&D Digital). They are still unable to reach installer. Gave me a $100 credit on account for the on-time guarantee that was not honored.

1/6/08 @ 6:26pm: (Christina) – I talked to her and asked to be transferred to a supervisor. Talked to Matt, supervisor at DirecTV. We talked to Lou at JP&D Digital. She promised me that she would follow-up on the account at 2pm. Gave me her number as 1-877-924-4700 x. 139. Offer me free HD Service for a year and 6 months free DVR service.

1/7/08 @ 3:17pm: Lou never called. I called her at JP&D Digital and had to leave a voice mail.

1/7/08 @ 3:41pm: Michael from JP&D Digital called and left his number for me to call him back. When you call that number back, no one answers.

1/7/08 @ 4:20pm: CSR got in touch with JP&D Digital. They promised he was getting in touch with the local field supervisor and would be calling me back in 30 mins.

1/7/08 @ 5:20pm: (Holly) – Tried to reach Matt, supervisor and no answer in that department. She also tried to call JP&D Digital and got no one to answer the phones. Held on for 36 mins and got tired of holding.

1/7/08 @ 5:52pm: (Brian) - Called JP&D Digital and finally got someone to answer the phone. He is now working to resolve this. Been on the call for 16mins.

More to follow.

On hold for 36 mins ?
I bet (Holly) got half home in her car and thought - Oh sh*t ! Did I leave that guy on hold ?

After a few freakin' minutes I'd have figured they forgot me and hung up.

I ordered upgrade for HD-Dvr on 12/10 and earliest install date was 12/29...

I procrastinated myself right into the x-mas rush i figured....

Our midwest weather got me bumped back to 01/07, 8 - 12am, today.....

We did get the confirmation call a few days ago from the local installer...

Called the wife around noon not being very optimistic, and was pleased to hear
that a competent and friendly female installer was just finishing outside, and was going to activate the receiver next.....

I was preparing for what you are going though now, I wish you luck,
sounds like you need it....

I am west of Kansas City, lucky for me it seems.....

Yes it is worth waiting for ..... :)
