I want to switch 2 tv's. Are the remotes tied to the tv, the receiver, neither or both. What do I need to do to accomplish this? Both non dvr's but I don't want to goof anything up. Thanks!

At first the remote is "tided" to the receiver, but then if you've programing it for the TV, you would need to rerun the TV programing steps again.

It depends how your remotes were set up. Were the TVs in different rooms? And are the Receivers the same brand/model? If so, then you probably just need to swap the TVs and swap the remotes at the same time. The remote commands for the DirecTV Receiver are the same on each remote, but they were probably programmed for each TV to control its power and volume setting.

Switched the tv w/remote. Worked great. Thanks!
