Hi guys! First time poster here. Sorry if this question is stupid. =/

Let me give you a visual of my problem. I'm currently set on dual mode. I'm the primary user and watch alot of television on TV1 and record to TV2. Another family member watches alot of television on TV2. However my recordings are stopped when user2 changes the channel on TV2. Yea, I know... obviously.

I was wondring if there was way to prevent TV2/User 2 from changing the channel which of course would allow me to record to TV2.

I was talking to DN's customer support. They told me to switch it to single mode. I tried that and suddenly TV2 remote controlled my TV??!

I then called back and asked if turning off shared view on single mode would prevent User2 from changing the channel while recording? She was confused and gave me a lie of an answer. "Um, yea.. I think" she replied.

AHHHH. I'm very frustrated. ALL I want is to watch whatever I want on TV1 with the gurantee that TV2 will record when I desire.

Is there a lock to prevent user2 from stopping me recording? Can I block user2 using single mode with shared view disabled?

PLEASE HELP!?

When you switch to single mode, just go grab the TV2 remote and hide it. It sounds like you need another receiver for TV2 so you can own the 722 completely. Your requirements don't share well.

A little training is in order! When the person on TV2 changes channels, there should be a pop up saying changing channels will stop a recording. They sould be trained to answer no.

I assume this is a kid? That's better than a spouse. Kids are trainable, spouses aren't. :)

lol.

So while im recording, what exactly does TV2 see when I am in both single mode activated shared view and in single mode deactivated shared view??

hahaha YES. A very dumb 9 year old.

Training is a great idea. If not, I'm pulling that UHF antenna off.

There is a sticky thread in this forum that explains the Record Plus options.

Why switch to single mode...

"just go grab the TV2 remote and hide it.... " doesn't matter what mode you're in.
