Hi Folks!
I just picked up a 5 LNB Slimline for $40 (mount, ez/al, etc..) and want to check on the LNB I have. It is a CalAmp Model No.: 151647, Lot No: 0707. I know that there were issues on the WNB Revision 1 units and just wanted to check with folks on DBS about this 5 LNB unit... OK or No?
Thanks!
Some people have claimed the CalAmp isn't as good as the other. I have used both and both gave equal performance. The CalAmp can be easily modified to be a 3-LNB (99/101/103) that can then be used with a separate 110/119 if needed.

Thanks! One more question... I can get either a CalAmp Slimline (w/CalAmp integrated LNB) or a WNC AT-9 (w/WNC 3 LNB and WNC Side-card LNB). Both are new and both I can get for $40... which would YOU all go for and WHY!?
Help and Thanks!
:D
If you don't need to use a multi-dish setup in order to get 110 and 119, I would go with the Slimline, no question about it.
If you specifically need the multi-dish configuration, then the AT9 would be a good choice, as you don't have to heat up the soldering iron to disable the 110/119 LNB's.

Check out the following thread http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=106894 . . . Evidence is showing that some CalAmps may have some signal strength issues

Thanks for the help and information. Sounds like the CalAmp LNB might be a problem. Ugh... Well, I will go ahead and mount the Slimline on Saturday. I'll post my results with the CalAmp and if they are not up to par, I'll go find a non-CalAmp replacement 5 LNB.
Again, Thanks!
