I had a friend when I lived in Atlanta who was the son of Huntsville. AL rocket scientists, and he was equally bright yet absent-minded in the way folks that bright can be. He needed to mount a 2m ham radio 1/4 wavelength whip antenna on the roof of his VW and decided the easiest way to do this was to open the sun roof, stand on the seats, and drill the roof straight down from above.......

That wasn't his only "brain storm," though. There was an earlier experience when he decided to mount a remote speaker on the wall of his TV room and drilled a hole in the wall for the speaker wire to pass through to his ham station. It was only when he heard the "clink" from the tile hitting the floor that he remembered that there was a small bathroom separating the two rooms. :eek2:

great video!!! I'd say that the narrator was being very restrained, he could have used a lot more four letter words.

Things like this are the very reason why I do everything myself. If I don't how to perform a task, I study, learn then do whatever I need to do.

My initial thought was "why would they run the cable around the door frame, rather than go the other way around the closet?" After seeing that the installer drilled through a pocket door to run a wire, my first thought became a moot point.
