I just learned today that you can activate the "30 sec skip" by inputing "30skip" as a keyword search (via today's new update).

What are some of the other features you can add by a keyword search?

Thanks

Those are the only ones besides IAMANEDGECUTTER, which enables Menu-Info on the front panel for persistent list sorting. Other ones may come and go but those are the only ones current right now.

DO a KEYWORD search using 30skip. That will set it. If you want to go back to the slip mode, just do a keyword search on 30slip.

Note, you cannot keep the search and just rerun it as a recent search. It has to be typed in each time.

Does this work for the HR21, or just the HR20's?

HR21 does not have 30skip available in the current NR.
It is available if you're using the last CE.

What's a "CE"?

Basically, in laymans terms, which is good cause I'm not the tech-head that some of the guys here are, it's a "beta" test.

Started way back when, before OTA was enabled on the HR20. They were "release candidates" for a while, but the entire process was deemed "cutting edge", and thus, the CE designation to these beta tests which we're allowed to participate in.

Check out the Cutting Edge forum, and there's threads there that announce each new release, which you can download, should you choose to accept the risk, during a specific window of time when they put the software into the "data stream".

EDIT for more info:
At times, you may get new features released in a cutting edge release. More often than not, though, it's "under the hood" type changes. Reliability issues, etc. Most of the changes are the direct result of error reports in the issues/problems threads which are created with each download.

It's pretty cool to actually have a hand in the development of a product - especially one which, for so many of us, is a pretty big part of our day to day lives.

Is there any way to get ahold of the firmware and search it for potential keywords that we don't already know about?

What is the difference between slip and skip?

What is the difference between slip and skip?

Slip actually shows you it basically fast forwarding, where skip moves 30 seconds ahead. Think of it like move to another chapter on a DVD Movie.

Perfect! Skip is what I prefer. Thanks for the response!
