721 Setup help needed

I have a dish 300 antenna with one cable running down from the roof, how can i hook up the dual tuner 721? i know you cant just use a splitter at the back of the PVR from one line to sat1 & sat2,
i really don't want to run a second line from the dish to the receiver, is there any alternatives? :shrug:

Hey Dan!

You will need a second line coming from the Dish (and you will probably want to upgrade to a Dish 500 as the 7 day guide only comes from the 110 satellite)

Do NOT use a splitter as you will probably blow up your receiver. :D

If your going to have a 721 bite the bullet and do it correctly, you will be much happier when its all done.

If you upgrade to top 150 package for a year you will get a free dish 500 and free install of the dish too. Tell the installer you want to keep the dish so that you can use it for 61.5 in the future just in case you want to use that slot from Dish or for the new Rainbow Satellite service that is coming out.

I went through the same frustration but in the end Scott is right, don't even bother trying to figure out another way to do it. Just run the second line. BTW I did have just one line hooked up to my 721 for awhile and it worked but the guide didn't download and there was alot of mystery errors in addition to not being able to use pip, watch a show and record etc etc...

Well i went to a buddy of mine and bought a dish 500 and a dual lnb pro antenna for $25 , :cool: it's not a big deal to run a second line for me, it's just that is 17F outside today :eek2: be back in a few hours. i am exited cuz before i would record something an here comes the wife and switches channels on me, but nothing on sat2 :)
