Earl, did you inquire and they said "there is no information at this time" or were you too busy and just didn't get a chance to inquire?

Thanks

The only word I received was that production was continuing to ramp up. Some units are being installed in test markets and some MDU locations. Beyond that, I was not given a timeline for general availability nor a sense on if/when they might be available via distributors.

Cheers,
Tom

I've heard through my grapevine pretty much the same thing - there are 6 markets, mostly in the NorthEast, doing field testing with some new installs. Reports are so far so good. I would suspect we should see them become available mainstream some time this quarter if testing concludes well.

Ain't it the truth. I think the success of the entire CE industry is based on this simple statement.

I can understand why the natives are getting restless. It is great to have the ability to support 2-tuner DVRs through a single cable, especially since most folks only have one cable line running to most rooms today.

This is why I suspect SWM's are being so thoroughly field tested...so that they can avoid any hiccups at the launch.

IMHO, this is one of the most significant R&D products to come from DirecTV is some time, and will both simplify installs as well as make the results so much better. It will also be the key to delivering out more DVRs.
