I currently have a Santa Cruz. Is the Audigy 2 a worthy upgrade or should I stay with the Santa Cruz?

I like the Audigy 2, but the Santa Cruz is a great card. If there are not features in the Audigy 2 that you require, I'd just assume stay.

Take it away Zac. :D

I'd suggest avoiding any Creative Labs product. They tend to not be very good in many areas. I've never actually used an Audigy 2 though, so I must be fair. However, past experience has told me to avoid them. If you want better sound quality - Check out the M-Audio Audiophile 24/96. It doesn't have 5.1 surround sound though. Also check out their new M-Audio Revolution ( http://m-audio.com/products/consumer/revolution_page1.php ). I've never heard one of these either, but based on the company's history - I'm looking more forward to actually getting a chance to really try one out than I am with the Audigy 2.

If Zac says to stay away from Creative Labs products then my recomendation is to get the Audigy 2. :)

What? I said I've never used the Audigy 2 - but the brand (Creative Labs) has given me a lot of reason to expect bad things? I admitted I hadn't seen it and he should talk to people who actually had? What did I do wrong?

I had a audigy card, and found the card to be ok, BUT the drivers owned my computer. After I installed it it took 30 more seconds to boot and did lock up from time to time..
Bought a santa cruz of Ebay for 50$ and love it
