On advice from a Directv tech person, I removed the B Band Converter to see if that got rid of some pesky pixilation (no other probs of any kind). It got rid of the satellite signal altogether! Putting the converter back in did not help..."Searching for signal" After trying reset, unplugging, again trying with the converter in and the converter out...no signal. The tech person decided my unit, H20-600, had just gone bad and would send me a new one.
Being a curious person, I removed the B Band converter from the receiver in the other room, which had been working perfectly....you guessed it, now there is no signal detected by that unit either. Of course, have tried reset, unplugging, with and without the converter.
So, the tech set up an appt. for service, which will be in about two weeks due to my schedule. No TV of any kind for two weeks.
Unless someone out there has some idea of how to get these two units to start detecting the satellite???

I'm no expert here, but you're saying you had a signal until you simply disconnected the line and then reconnected, right?

I've read other post where they suggest unplugging the unit and waiting at least 5 minutes and then replugging it in. Most of those worked. Did you wait that long?

I would not think it would be a LNB or multiswitch problem if you had signal just before removing the cables.

So none of your Receivers receive any satellite signal now? Do you have a friend or neighbor with DirecTV where you could try one of your Receivers on their satellite dish, or try one of theirs on your dish? We need to figure out if it's just a Receiver issue, or if you've lost the signal at the dish.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm sorry to say I did try unplugging for 5+ minutes...and still no signal detected.

Litzdog911, you got it right: no signal detected by either receiver. Good idea about the neighbors...I don't know if any have Directv. I'll have to go check it out!
